It’s important to even mention the Blog Action Day 08. I am glad we have initiatives promoting support for those who really need it. There is a lot of interesting posts today on the topic of poverty, and I feel my contribution is minor really…All I can say is that I am really impressed by posts like Joanna’s or the Twitter presence. Every single mentioning of it counts, so please join! You can make a difference, even if you just say that is does happen;)
As or me I am thinking more and more about charity work. I remember my first serious piece of photography which ended up on the cover of a study on quite a serious aspect of poverty in Eastern Europe (document prepared by Open Society Institute in Budapest). I am honoured to know a few people there who actually commit their whole lives to work against poverty and other problems. I know families of those specialists – families committed to a lifestyle in which mom or dad are away for quite long, but for a good cause. It is a commitment too, unbelievable one!
Maybe I should push similar projects more? Maybe there is more I can do -next to my job, of course -with my photography to help? If you have any ideas, please let me know!
(Btw there is an interesting new post about ways of changing the world using social media here, check it out!)
